User Agreement

Welcome to StarReel. By registering an account or using this service, you agree to the following terms.

1. Scope of Services

We provide:

• Desktop AI short-drama generation software (macOS client)
• Cloud accounts, credits top-ups and billing
• Project metadata cloud sync

We do not directly provide:

• AI models themselves (provided by third parties such as OpenAI / Gemini / Volcano / MiniMax, etc.)
• Video distribution or hosting services

2. Accounts

• You must register with a valid email. One email may register only one account.
• An account can only be logged in on one device at a time. Logging in on a new device will automatically log out the old device.
• Passwords must contain letters and numbers and be at least 8 characters long.
• You are responsible for account security. If you suspect your account is compromised, immediately change your password and contact customer support.

3. Code of Conduct

When using this service, you agree not to:

• Generate or distribute illegal, obscene, violent, infringing, or false content
• Generate defamatory or deepfake content targeting real persons (especially minors)
• Bypass, hack, or abuse the credits quota mechanism
• Reverse-engineer the service, perform scraping attacks, or DDoS
• Share or resell accounts

Violations of the above may result in account suspension or permanent ban, and fees already paid will not be refunded.

4. AI-Generated Content

• Copyright of videos, audio, and images you generate through this service belongs to you.
• You are fully responsible for the legality and non-infringement of the content you generate.
• This service does not pre-screen generated content; however, we will cooperate with regulators if illegal content is discovered.
• AI models may produce factually incorrect or stylistically biased content; publish with caution.

5. Top-ups and Billing

• This service does not offer subscriptions or monthly fees; it uses a credits top-up, pay-as-you-go model.
• Top-ups support WeChat Pay, Alipay, and bank cards (overseas USD cards supported). RMB top-ups: ¥1 = 100 credits; USD top-ups: US$1 = 543–628 credits (volume-tiered).
• Using AI services deducts credits from your balance based on usage (e.g., image generation, voiceover (TTS), copywriting, video generation).
• Top-up credits never expire and are not reset.
• Credits are a virtual service balance; once successfully consumed they are non-refundable. Unused top-up balances may be refunded in accordance with applicable regulations.
• If per-unit pricing is adjusted, we will notify you by email 30 days in advance; already purchased credits will not be affected.

6. AI Vendor Key

• When using the "platform Key", AI vendor invocation fees are borne by us and are deducted from your credits balance based on usage.
• When using a "BYO Key (bring-your-own Key)", invocation fees are paid directly by you to the AI vendor, do not consume credits, and the platform does not take a margin.
• AI vendors' terms of service and privacy policies are the responsibility of each vendor; please review them yourself.

7. Limitation of Liability

• The service is provided "as is". We make reasonable efforts to maintain stability, but do not guarantee 100% availability.
• To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or punitive damages arising from use of the service.
• In any case, our aggregate liability will not exceed the top-up fees you paid in the past 12 months.

8. Termination

• You may delete your account at any time. After deletion the account can be restored within 30 days; after 30 days data will be permanently deleted.
• We may unilaterally terminate the service for serious violations of this agreement, without refund.

9. Changes to the Agreement

Material changes will be notified by email + in-app notice at least 30 days in advance. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law and Disputes

This agreement is governed by [TBD] law. Any dispute will first be resolved through negotiation; if negotiation fails, it will be submitted to [TBD] arbitration.
